A New Glimpse of My Guests for Tomorrow’s Show

I love professional pictures, but I also know that behind that spit and polish there’s a real person who has bad hair days just like me, (that’s when I wear a baseball cap!).

Before every show, I’ll be bringing you a “behind the scene” picture of my guests along with a little bit about how I connected with them, so you can get to know them a tad better before hand.

A little tidbit about each of my guests…

I met Cindy Scinto at the Northwest Christian Writers’ Renewal in Washington back in 2008 and we immediately became fast friends. A native of New York, and Italian to boot,  I love her spunk…and I’ll tell you what, the health challenges she has lived through will completely amaze you, especially when you realize that she’s still smiling and praising God! Known by many as the “energizer bunny” she, her husband and son reside in Eastern Washington.

When I first moved to San Antonio to help my brother take care of my 90 year old Momma, I looked on Meetup.com to find some Christian groups to join. I hadn’t found a church yet and was hungry for fellowship. Up popped the Christian Women’s Small Business Association (CWSBA) meetup and I immediately signed up to attend. I’ve attended all the monthly meetings they’ve had since I moved here in late November, 2o12, and each time I walk away incredibly encouraged. In fact, it was at the April meeting,  where former TV sports broadcaster Lisa Burkhart Worley was the speaker, where I met Karen Brkich from KSLR and she asked me if I’d like to do a radio show…and the rest is history! So Anna Quesada’s ministry has had a huge impact on my life! She and her husband, Steven, have a lovely little girl and live here in San Antonio.

And last but not least, is KSLR’s own host for Joy in the Morning, Joy Ware Miller. We finally met in person at the CWSBA’s lunch a few days ago and she realized that we’d met about 5 or 6 years ago at Write To Publish in Wheaton, IL when she attended the conference and sat in on my class on branding… we even had a 15 minute appointment to talk about her book idea…she lived in Ohio at the time and I in Washington…and here we are now, in the same town, and on the same radio station, KSLR. How cool is that? She has gone through some incredibly painful times in her life, and was tempted to have a pity party…however, her relationship with God enabled her to learn from the pain and be an inspiration to others as a result. This picture shows  her with husband – Charles, and daughters Lauren and Olivia.

Newsflash – Additional Guest Joins the Line-Up for Inaugural Show!

I am so excited to announce that KSLR’s own Joy Ware Miller will join us for the show this Saturday, June 1. Because my other guest, Anna Quesada, was so instrumental in God’s move in Joy’s life when she moved to San Antonio from Ohio…and as she has been with me as I moved from Washington to Texas, it just seemed like a God thing to have Joy as part of this groundbreaking day.

Rachel Hauck

Linda Evans Shepherd

Author, speaker and radio personality, Christian Retailing Magazine compares Linda to both Beth Moore and Stormy Omartian while Dr. John DeBrine, the host of the radio show Songtime USA, said Linda reminds him of a little lady he met in the sixties by the name of Corrie ten Boom. Patsy Clairmont says, “There is a bubbling up of Jesus-Joy that exudes from Linda that is absolutely contagious. I love her blend of humor and heart and I stand back amazed at her “go tell the world” determination.”

June Hunt to be Interviewed at ICRS

June Hunt’s “Hope in the Night” show recently returned to AM 630 KSLR, so I was extremely excited to see her on the roster for ICRS. I spent some sweet fellowship time with June in Branson, MO last fall during the American Association of Christian Counselors National Convention, so I am looking forward to reconnecting with her! Just today I confirmed a time slot to interview her when I’m in St. Louis for the International Christian Retail Show. Yes!!!

In September 2001, Cindy, a healthy young woman, suffered a heart attack that was only the beginning of a grueling seven-year journey through heart disease. Four years later, after forty operations and several brushes with death, she received a miraculous heart transplant that saved her life. In October 2010, she once again found her life being cut short. But, on May 12, 2011, she became the first and only person in the world to receive a pancreas transplant as a diabetic, six years after a heart transplant.

ICRS Interviews Heating Up

I’ve spent the last 3 or 4 days scheduling interviews with different authors and artists. They will be attending the International Christian Retail Show to share their latest release, and I will have the privilege of bringing their heart to you on Always Faithful Radio.

Just today I’ve scheduled Tammy Trent, Matthew West, and Lynn Austin. This is getting exciting! Lots more to come!

International Christian Retail Show

I’ve spent much of today scheduling interviews with authors while I’m in St. Louis from June 23-26 for the annual event hosted by the Christian Booksellers Association.

I have slots for 40 interviews while I’m there and I’ve already filled up 12 of them, with another 13 in process of nailing down times.

Each publisher will provide 1 or 2 copies of the author’s latest release as giveaways, so I’ll have a wonderful time spotlighting each author and drawing out that special example of God’s faithfulness in their lives.
