Join me this Saturday, July 20, from 11AM to Noon CST as I bring you some AMAZING guests…for the first half of the show I’ll introduce you to Liz Curtis Higgs. Former Bad Girl turned popular speaker, Bible study teacher, and New York Times bestselling author, since writing Bad Girls of the Bible 15 years ago, Liz has taken more than a million women for a walk on the wild side.
She has updated the book with the addition of an in-depth study guide and new discussion questions as well as an all-new companion DVD. Through this new project, Higgs gives another generation the opportunity to take a verse-by-verse look at some of the Bible’s most notorious women and how they reveal God’s grace anew.
“We are not here to judge the bad girls. We are here to learn from them,” explains Higgs on the Bad Girls of the Bible DVD. “Our focus is not on the badness of people, but on the goodness of God.”
Bad Girls of the Bible is laced with humor, solid research, and heartfelt self-disclosure. A teacher known for eye-opening insights, Higgs consulted 50 commentaries and 10 different Bible translations in bringing these Bad Girls into the 21st century. The new Bad Girls of the Bible companion DVD is perfect for group or personal study, with 10 segments lasting 10-12 minutes each—a total of 120 minutes of insightful and compelling teaching filmed before a live audience.
If you’re not connected with Liz online, here’s a taste of what you’re missing!

During the second half of the show, I’ll bring you Laura Story, a talented worship leader and songwriter known for penning hit songs such as “Indescribable” made famous by Chris Tomlin and the smash inspirational hit “Blessings.” It topped the iTunes® Christian/Gospel Top Songs chart and held the No. 1 spot for 28 consecutive weeks, and Story took home the GRAMMY® Award for Best Contemporary Christian Song, the Billboard Music Award for Top Christian Song as well as Dove Awards for Song of the Year, Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year, Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year and Songwriter of the Year. Her first book, What If Your Blessings Come Through Raindrops?, released in 2012 and was inspired by her Grammy and Dove Award-winning hit song, “Blessings.”
Laura will be in concert at Oak Hills Church this weekend, so I thought playing the pre-recorded interview this weekend was a good fit. We met together at the International Christian Retail Show last month in St. Louis, and I originally was going to play the interview this fall when her new album is released, but you know how God likes to change it up! J
I have to say, she was one of the most refreshing and authentic interviews I had the pleasure of recording…her humility and love for God was so sweet and a wonder to behold…you’ll love hearing “the story behind the story”…
And YES, even though I won’t have anyone in studio with me, I will be continuing the conversation off the air at El Jarro’s Mexican Restaurant at 12:30 (281 and Bitters by the Party Store)…
Looking forward to spending my Saturday morning with you all!
