In case you missed the show, here’s the link to the podcast:

What a delight it was to have Gary Roe back in the studio with me today. We talked extensively about his new book with New York Times bestselling author Cecil Murphey, Saying Goodbye: Facing the Loss of a Loved One.

There were so many common sense, practical tips given to help us prepare for the inevitable, and to be a blessing to our loved one, and appreciate the blessing they have been to us. The bittersweet aspects of losing a loved one can actually be embraced and appreciated, with the right tools. Tools that will help you keep your focus on Jesus and take healthy steps to leave nothing left unsaid, and take care of any unfinished business between the two of you. Oh and then there’s the importance of taking care of yourself, so you really can be a blessing to your loved one as you care for them during this stressful time.

So many good points made…and such a good resource for everyone. After all, death is a part of life, and there’s no getting around experiencing the loss of a loved one (well, unless you go first!)…so you might as well get prepared to be a blessing and not a curse.

Saturday 9/14 – Learning to Grieve Well with Hospice Chaplain Gary Roe

gary and saying goodbye

Can’t wait to have my good friend back in the studio this next Saturday! This time the topic will be Learning to Grieve Well and we’ll be discussing his new book, co-authored with NYT bestselling author Cecil Murphey, Saying Goodbye: Facing the Loss of a Loved One.

Learning how to face death in a way that glorifies God is an important task for all women to accomplish, and tools that will help us learn as well as teach our children and other loved ones are vital. This resource is one of the best I’ve seen in over 20 years in the publishing business…compelling content, touching stories, lovely artwork, and practical tips on how to prepare for the loss of a loved one and how to grieve well. What has been a taboo subject in many families is brought into the light with hope and empathy. You can prepare to be a blessing to those you love….even if you aren’t facing the death of a loved one now, there’s no doubt you will someday…so don’t miss this show! And pass on this post to let others know!

11AM to Noon CST, 9/14/2013 on AM 630 KSLR, or streaming live on http://saleminteractivemedia.com/ListenLive/Player/KSLRAM.

And, as usual, we’ll continue the conversation after the show at El Jarro’s. Gary and I will arrive there at 12:30 and look forward to meeting you in person!
